Abstract: The Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) represents a paradigm shift in cybersecurity for financial services cloud environments, emphasizing continuous authentication and strict access controls to counter evolving cyber threats. Traditional perimeter-based security models are insufficient against sophisticated attacks targeting sensitive financial data. ZTA addresses these challenges by assuming all network traffic is untrusted until verified, employing granular access controls, encryption, and real-time monitoring. This paper explores the implementation of ZTA in financial services, highlighting its positive impacts on security, regulatory compliance, and data protection while discussing challenges such as implementation complexity and user experience.
